What Went Wrong in Guntur Kaaram, Paruchuri Speaks Out

Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, a renowned Telugu screenwriter, is known for his vast contribution to over 350 films in Telugu cinema. Beyond his screenwriting, he engages with audiences through YouTube under the banner ‘Paruchuri Palukulu’ or ‘Paruchuri Paatalu’, offering insights into contemporary Indian films.

While he typically avoids criticism, recent comments have stirred controversies. In 2020, his remarks on the Sankranthi release Sarileru Neekevvaru upset Mahesh Babu fans. Now, he’s in the spotlight again for criticizing Super Star’s latest film, Guntur Kaaram (2024).

Although Paruchuri initially praised ‘Guruji’ Trivikram Srinivas, he swiftly highlighted flaws in his latest work. He labeled the script as a ‘family subject’ and criticized the film’s title for being misleading.

Paruchuri suggested that Trivikram, while aiming for fan service, failed to evoke core emotions. Like many critics, he found the main characters, especially Sreeleela’s portrayal, poorly written.
