Vivek Agnihotri has criticised Bollywood for the way it operates while also saying that people make fun of the sector.
Vivek Agnihotri, a filmmaker from Bollywood, is never afraid to speak out against anything that is occurring around the world. The filmmaker has been in the news for a while now because of the controversy surrounding his most recent movie, The Kashmir Files. The director frequently criticizes the industry on social media for its hypocrisy and application of double standards. Vivek Agnihotri recently criticized the industry, feeling that people have been laughing at them, while he is currently in the headlines for his upcoming movie The Kashmir Files Unreported.
He is prepared to make a comeback with yet another hidden aspect of the Kashmiri Pandit genocide that took place in the valley following the box-office triumph of The Kashmir Files. He recently had a lengthy interview before the film’s release in which he discussed how Bollywood is all about a star-driven picture.
Vivek Agnihotri said, “The journey started long back when I made Buddha In A Traffic Jam. There was a time when I got sick with how Bollywood works and operates because everything was so star-driven that nobody cared about stories. Then came a phase when films meant only entertainment, entertainment, and entertainment. I think that was a very very wrong signal we gave because if films were only entertainment, then there is no difference between films and circus.”
He continued by saying that Bollywood has turned into a source of amusement for those who frequently hear that their costumes are excellent duplicates. He believes, however, that no one wants to replicate the tales.
“I don’t have a grudge, but I say things about Bollywood because I want Bollywood to change,” Vivek Agnihotri continued. Bollywood should reinvent itself and strive to be the best film industry in the world. Bollywood needs to stop being an embarrassment for India and start being a soft power. Everyone says, “Ha ha ha, your songs are great, your costumes are gorgeous, and everyone wants to copy your costumes, but nobody wants to copy our story,” wherever you go. So I express that with sincere care.
