Vikram announces a sequel to 24

Director Vikram K Kumar’s 24, which featured Suriya, Samantha, and Nithya Menon in the lead roles, was a blockbuster hit and a trendsetter at the time of its release. Vikram intended to do the film with Superstar Mahesh Babu, but since he had rejected the script, Suriya ended up doing it.

The film even won a few National Awards, most notably for its cinematography, handled by Thiru. While promoting his upcoming film Thank You with Naga Chaitanya, Vikram said that the base idea for the sequel of 24 is ready and that his team is currently working on the full script. He said that the sequel would get on floors once the script is perfectly done.

On the other hand, Vikram didn’t mention whether or not the sequel would have characters from the original, or whether it would be a brand new story. It would be interesting to see what the director comes up with, when the movie is officially launched.
