A few weeks back, news came out that reputed Telugu producer Suresh Babu is keen on going ahead with the OTT release of his upcoming films Narappa and Drushyam 2. As per the sources, while Amazon Prime Video has bagged the rights of Narappa, Drushyam 2 digital rights are acquired by Disney Plus Hotstar.
Meanwhile, this after, Suresh Productions banner has made an official announcement that Narappa will be released on Amazon Prime Video on July 20th. Touted as an intense village drama, the film is an official remake of Dhanush’s 2019 hit, Asuran. While Srikanth Addala has directed the Telugu version, Suresh Babu in collaboration with Tamil filmmaker Kalaippuli S Thanu.
Narappa stars Venkatesh, Priyamani, Karthik Rathnam among others in the lead roles. Mani Sharma has composed music for the film.
