For the upcoming Sankranthi season, two straight Telugu films Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya are scheduled for a theatrical release on January 12th and 13th respectively. While Veera Simha Reddy has Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja did lead roles in Waltair Veerayya.
Meanwhile, the latest reports from the US indicate that Veera Simha Reddy’s pre-sales in North America are more than $400K. If the same trend continues, the film has a fair chance to breach more than $500K through advance scales itself. Will the film gross the magical $1 million through premiers itself? Remains to be seen.
On the other hand, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya has breached more than $330K through pre-sales and is expected to breach $1 million dollar through the premiers, if the talk from early shows is encouraging.
In domestic Indian pockets, the advance bookings for both Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy are good. Have to wait and see how much both films collect on the first day.
