The Tamil film industry is strongly backing “Tourist Family,” a movie based on human values. Its teaser and trailer created good buzz, and top Tamil filmmakers praised it as ‘extraordinary’. The director, once a YouTuber, grabbed attention by proposing to his long-time girlfriend on stage during the pre-release event, boosting social media talk. Now, all eyes are on whether the film lives up to the hype!

Tourist Family Review

Tourist Family Movie Story: Dharmadas (played by Sasikumar) migrates from Sri Lanka to Chennai along with his wife and two sons, who trust and depend on him. They settle in a small colony in the city. The story of “Tourist Family” revolves around how he bonds with the people there and how, through his kind-hearted nature, he reminds them of the humanity they had forgotten.

Performances: Simran, who recently went viral for saying it’s better to play an aunty role than stay idle, shines in this film as a simple housewife. It’s refreshing to see her in a middle-class role after years of glamour.

Sasikumar, known for such kind-hearted characters, delivers a relatable performance, especially in an emotional scene about failing his family. Child actor Kamalesh steals the show with his presence and comic timing. Mithun Jaya Shankar makes an impact in the second half with an emotional dialogue. Yogi Babu adds humor as always, and all the colony residents feel natural and well-cast in their roles.

Technical Aspects: Director Abishan Jeevinth delivers a heart-touching debut with Tourist Family, turning a simple story into an emotional experience. His balance of humor and human emotions is impressive, making the film deeply relatable and moving. The church scene explaining the meaning of God is a standout moment that touches the soul.

The film’s ending leaves a lasting impact with a satisfying message. Abishan proves he’s a talent to watch in Tamil cinema. Sean Roldan’s music lifts every emotion beautifully, while the cinematography, art direction, and production design all work together to enhance the film’s warmth and emotional depth.

Analysis: Tourist Family is an emotionally touching film that stays with you even after it ends. It’s a rare experience that makes your heart feel light yet heavy at the same time. A must-watch in theatres, and easily one of the best Indian films of 2025.

Verdict: Tourist Family is an emotionally impactful film with powerful storytelling. A must-watch for 2025, it’s sure to leave a lasting impression.

Bottom Line: Emotional, impactful, a must-watch film.
