Nandamuri Balakrishna started his career way back in 1970’s with his father’s directorial Tatamma Kala has a child actor. Since then he had been part of movies directed by his father like Akbar Salim Anarkali, Sri Venkateswara Mahatyam, Sri Madvirat Veerabrahmendra Swami and then got introduced as a solo lead.
He was completely accepted by the audience with Mangamma Gari Manavadu and from then on he made movies like Muddula Mavayya, Bangaru Bullodu, Gandeevam, Bhairavadweepam and many more. In those many hit films one of the enjoyable one with early Soundarya as a lead is Top Hero directed by SV Krishna Reddy.
A reiteration of several NTR social movies, the film had a punchline for its hero “Kinda nunchoccha” (Came from below the poverty line). The film was one of those enjoyable comedies of SV Krishna Reddy during his prime. The movie was unadulterated with a song on beedi, Kota’s comic villiany and a mix of Dagudu Muthalu and Shanti Nivasam storylines with plot expansion on the lines of Kodalu Diddina Kapuram and Krishnavataram, movie of Superstar Krishna directed by Bapu.
After 25 years of the release of the film, the combination could repeat once again for a film. Krishna Reddy became busy with his films like Yamaleela, Uyyala, Hungama, Premaku Velayara with medium budget and new heroes. He even himself tried hand at being a hero in his film with Ugadi. So the combination never went ahead with a new movie. Krishna Reddy has narrated a 40 minutes story and complete line to Balakrishna. The hero liked the emotional content and asked the director to come with a bound script so that they go ahead with the production. Ramesh Puppala will produce the film once everything is set in motion. BalaKrishna is currently busy finishing dubbing works for Gautamiputra Satakarni and promotional events of the film. He will be starring in Krishna Vamsi’s Raithu after the release.
