In Tollywood, the summer movie season typically kicks off towards the end of March and lasts until the end of May. However, February and March are usually considered slow months for the theatre business, with fewer releases and lower collections. Traditionally, big-budget films and projects with significant hype tend to avoid these months.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie landscape has undergone significant changes. Mid-range movies are now releasing during these traditionally quiet months, and star hero projects are occupying prime slots throughout the year. This trend continues this year as well, with several notable releases scheduled for February and March.
In February, audiences can enjoy films like Ravi Teja‘s ‘Eagle‘ and Sundeep Kishan‘s ‘Ooru Peru Bhairavakona‘. Although the third and fourth weeks of February might be relatively quiet, March promises an exciting lineup. Varun Tej‘s ‘Operation Valentine‘ is set to hit screens in the first week of March, releasing in both Telugu and Hindi.
‘Bhima‘ starring Gopichand and Malavika Sharma will grace theatres. Vishwak Sen’s ‘Gaami‘ will add to the excitement on March 8th, offering a treat for film lovers. Closing out the month, Siddu‘s ‘Tillu Square‘ is scheduled for release on March 29th. As April and May approach, anticipation builds for more big releases, promising an action-packed summer at the movies for Tollywood fans.
