This time a Rajni-Pongal or Thala Ajith Pongal?

In Kollywood, if a big star hero’s film releases on the festival, then the fans and media publish it as that star’s hero special. Like Thala Deepavali, if Ajith film releases for the festival of lights and Thalapathy Diwali if Vijay film releases.

Both the big stars have planned to release their films for Pongal or Deepavali mostly, as it will be easy to market and fans would rally around the project creating huge hype.

Rajnikanth who used to do the same in 80’s, decided to release his films whenever they complete after Baasha, his last festival release, for Sankranthi. Now, he seems to have decided to release his latest, Petta for Pongal.

The official release date has not been confirmed yet but Ajith’s Viswasam shoot is almost over and the team has confirmed the release for Pongal. We have to wait and see, who will win the festival box office race, if Petta is confirmed by producers to release on Pongal.
