This OTT platform bags Dunki’s streaming rights

Rajkumar Hirani, a celebrated director, has brought his latest film, ‘Dunki,’ to cinemas worldwide, marking his first collaboration with Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan. The story revolves around Shah Rukh Khan leading a group of five friends, bonded by their aspirations for a better future.

Their journey to London brings unexpected twists to their lives. The cast, including Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Anil Grover, Vikram Kochhar, and Boman Irani, play significant roles. Although ‘Dunki’ generated a positive buzz with its promotional content, a potential digital premiere on Top OTT platform Jio Cinema after its theatrical release.

Critically, the film’s execution by Rajkumar Hirani is considered decent rather than exceptional. While the humor shines, the powerful emotions typically associated with Hirani’s work seem somewhat lacking in ‘Dunki.’

The second half boasts a few noteworthy moments, but the film doesn’t deliver the overwhelming impact expected from a Hirani film by its end. Overall, ‘Dunki’ explores an intriguing concept, but it falls short of achieving the emotional depth often seen in the director’s previous works.
