Promotions are key activities for any film to reach the next level. An average movie can go on to become a hit with right amount of promotions and a hit can be propelled to Blockbuster. Also wrong promotions can reduce a definite hit to a loss venture. With such importance given to promoting your work in right way, many actors and filmmakers try to plan it well and predict correctly, the reaction before release to execute the well planned activities.
After a successful 2016 year in Overseas market, the 2017 has started on a positive note too. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 150 and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni have earned 2million and 1.5 million at the USA box office. Even Sharwanand’s Shatamanam Bhavathi came close to earning a million at the box office. The interesting thing to notice from last two month’s releases is that two actors who did not have a million dollar movie at USA before their latest release have earned million and the heroes promoted their films in a big way there.
Ram Charan Tej did not have a $750k movie too before Dhruva and many thought his pre release rights sold for USA and Overseas would turn out to be huge loss for distributors but the actor promoted the movie with his team and the movie crossed the Million mark comfortably and went closer to 1.5M mark as well. After him, Nandamuri Balakrishna also visited USA to promote his Gautamiputra Satakarni to propel it to cross 2M mark after it had already crossed 1M. Continuing with the trend, actor Nani who had entered Million dollar club with Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy, is looking to breach the mark again with Nenu Local touted to be his most massy role and funny love story. The movie is ready for release this Friday and Nani will be going to US to promote and also continue to shoot his next movie there. Well, will the Third actor’s effort to promote his Local film, get the American Telugu Local’s support, needs to be seen.
