Prashanth Verma came onto the scene with a completely different movie like Awe! The movie made good profit for Nani and it also got the director and all the actors involved good name. Even though the movie is not highly popular after the release like Rangasthalam or Mahanati, it did make an impact on many audiences and even the producers.
Neelakanta, the director of films like Show, Missamma was supposed to direct the film, Telugu Queen remake. Tamannah Bhatia is playing the lead role. The producers of the film have decided to remake Queen in four South Indian languages with Manjima Mohan in Malayalam, Parul Yadhav in Kannada, Kajal Aggarwal in Tamil and Tamannah in Telugu. Ramesh Aravind is directing the movie in Tamil and Kannada. For Telugu version, they chose Neelakanta.
But the director quit due to creative differences and Prashanth Verma for the offer. Prashanth was supposed to start another film but as that project is delayed and also, Telugu Queen needs a person who can make better film on a war footing in less time, they chose Prashanth. The young director will start planning and execution as per the availability of Tamannah’s dates. Mostly a 30-day Non-stop schedule is planned for the film, it seems.
