Rajnikanth worked his magic all over India with his unmatchable style and valour. He has a fanbase that any other hero could only wish for and his movies jut need him to his usual mannerisms along with a storyline that suits his image and stature. Director Shankar, who captured the imagination of youth with his style of delivering blockbuster entertainment with a tinge of social awareness, made two highly appreciated and successful movies with Rajnikanth, Shivaji and Robo, apparently.
Robo, titled Enthiran in Tamil, received huge reception from the fans of both the actor and director, as Shivaji was looked upon only as a Rajni film and not a Shankar film. Rajni played a dual role in the movie as Scientist Vashigaran and andro humanoid robot, Chitti. Chitti, in the course of the movie develops feelings towards the leading lady Aishwarya in the film and then gets destroyed brutally by Scientist Vashigaran. But Chitti, resurfaces with the help of evil scientist Bora and names himself as 2Point0.
Many of Rajni fans liked him in the avatar of 2Point0, as after many years Thalaivar donned a negative role in the movie. When Shankar announced his plans to make a sequel for the movie many thought what would be the title and when it was announced 2Point0 many became happy and speculated, they could see Thailvar in the role again. Shankar and the entire team is tight-lipped about the story of the film. Along with Rajni, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson are playing the leading roles in the film. Akshay will be the villain of the film. After some gruelling shooting schedules in summer in Delhi, Rajni took some rest and he is back to the shooting floor from 23rd September.
Rajni needs this film to be a worthy sequel and of his stature, has his previous films, Linga, Kocchadayan (Vikrama Simha) and Kabali, even though created a lot of buzz and initial hype, ended up disappointing his fans. Kabali, in particular even though ended up a profitable venture for producers, many distributors claimed losses. Rajni has to break this trend with 2Point0 has the film’s landing cost is estimated at whopping 350 crs. The film is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
