RRR’s a record breaking succes at the Japanese box office made it a sensation, with the film playing to filled theaters for several months nonstop. Prior to its release, the jakkanna team’s promotional efforts, together with the buzz generated by its Oscar achievement, considerably boosted its success.

It is one of the highest-grossing Indian films in Japan, having earned more than 150 crore. During a screening in Japan, Rajamouli revealed unique details about his next movie, SSMB29. From Rajamouli, the script for SSMB29 has been finalized, and pre-production, including pre-visualization, is currently underway.

While the cast has yet to be confirmed, Mahesh Babu has been cast as the main hero. Rajamouli praised Babu, calling him extraordinarily attractive. He indicated his desire for a speedy production process and hinted at introducing Babu before the film’s release.

An official announcement on SSMB29 is due soon, and set construction has already begun at an aluminum plant in Hyderabad. Shooting is expected to begin in the second half of the year, with Rajamouli focusing on the global market for this project.
