Srikanth also known as Sriram in the TFI, was detained by Chennai police for questioning in a drug-related case.
His name came up during an investigation involving Prasad a former member of the AIADMK IT Wing, who was arrested after a bar brawl.
Prasad reportedly admitted to supplying cocaine to Srikanth and claimed the actor purchased one gram for Rs. 12,000. He also alleged that Srikanth consumed drugs at private parties and clubs in Chennai.
Following these claims the police called Srikanth for questioning at the Nungambakkam police station and collected his blood samples for testing.
The investigation has now widened to look into possible drug use in the film industry with actor Krishna also being mentioned.
As of now Srikanth has not made any public statement and neither he nor his legal team has responded officially. Police stated that further action will depend on the forensic results and continued investigation.
