Tollywood’s upcoming producers held a press meet today to discuss the problems caused by the ongoing workers strike.
Producers SKN, Dheeraj Mogilineni, Rajesh Danda, Chaitanya, Sharath, Anurag, Madhura Sreedhar, Maheshwar Reddy, Rakesh Varre, and others attended.
SKN said 90% of the industry is made up of small films. “We don’t have power, only our voices. This is not groupism but sharing our pain”.
“Even if wages rise by 50%, can you guarantee we’ll recover our investment? We arrange funds and meet deadlines but still face losses. We are not rising, we are burning producers”.
“A few actors earn big, few like Kiran Abbavaram support us. Ticket hikes help only a few films. Every craft should take responsibility,” he said, urging both state governments to help.
Chaitanya Reddy added that forcing producers to hire a fixed number of workers is unfair and hoped for a quick resolution.
