Shaakuntalam: Shocking Cost of Samantha’s Jewellery is Out

Star heroine Samantha and filmmaker Gunasekhar’s ambitious pan-India mythological magnum opus, Shaakuntalam is gearing up for a February 17th release. Based on a popular play Abhigyanam Shakuntalam by Kalidasa, Samantha is portraying the titular role in the movie.

For her role in the film, Samantha used original and regal jewellery designed by Vasundhara Diamond Roof. Reportedly, the makers invested a whopping of Rs 3 crore on Samantha’s jewellery which we can watch on the screen. A promotional poster in which Samantha is seen in the diamond jewellery wearing a pink saree was released by the makers and went viral on social media. The film’s theatrical trailer which was out a few days back has been receiving positive feedback from the audience and netizens. Shaakuntalam will be available in a 3D version as well.

Also starring Malayalam actor Dev Mohan, and senior artists such as Mohan Babu among others in key roles, Shaakuntalam will be out in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam languages. Gunasekhar’s daughter Neelima Guna is turning producer with this ambitious poetic romance drama. Dil Raju is presenting it. The film also has Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. Mani Sharma is the music composer.
