Samantha Akkineni is known for her acting talent and smart script selection that resulted in her becoming a Top star. Now, is she thinking about winning more awards by concentrating on different films than just commercial films?
She talked about her film, U-Turn, releasing on 13th September, ” I liked the trailer of the Kannada film, U-Turn and called up Pawan Kumar. Asked him to mail me the script and watched original twice before going ahead to sign the film. I wanted to be a part of it, but not because it will win me awards or so. I want the movie to be appreciated by many and win at the box office.
So, we decided on the safe budget and when everything is comfortably planned I thought rather than luxuries, we should concentrate on the necessities for this film. Now, we hope the holiday weekend will help us recover our budget in both the languages. There is no use, if a film loses money and earns a good name. It should first earn the money and if it is a good film, it will automatically make us proud and win awards!”.
About releasing her movie on the same day as her husband’s film, Shailaja Reddy Alludu, she said, “I want my husband to succeed every single time and my way of expression is a bit loud. But that is how I like it and he doesn’t have any problem with it. I will always put my husband ahead of me if comes down to that and this situation we haven’t planned or imagined would arrive. I want both films, in fact, my both releases and his movie to be successful. At the same time, if Chaitu’s film becomes the biggest hit, I will be doubly happy as I am more nervous than him.”
