Samantha Ruth Prabhu discusses pay parity in the sector and asserts that it need to go hand in hand with the incredibly high level of effort.
One of the most well-known and beloved actresses in the Hindi and South film industries, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is now preparing for the release of Shaakuntalam. Fans are even more enthusiastic about the movie now that the trailer has been out. The actress recently discussed wage parity and boldly spoke her viewpoint when the movie was being promoted.
Sam has a sizable following, and she never passes up an opportunity to communicate with them. She knows how to treat her followers, whether it’s responding to gossip about her or engaging in online banter. Additionally known for her frank honesty, the actress recently discussed pay equity in the industry.
In an interview Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is now among one of the most respected stars in the industry, talked about the pay parity in the film industry and said, “I am fighting hard, not directly…it’s not like I am fighting to be paid equally, I want it to be a byproduct of the hard work and success. People should just come and say, ‘Yes, we want to pay you this much.’ I shouldn’t have to beg for it. I believe that comes with an incredible amount of hard work.”
Talking more about it, Samantha further added, “When I put up this quote in my bio which says, ‘Whatever your capabilities, you must stretch them to the limit and a little beyond’ and when you are a woman in this industry, it’s not just enough to stretch your capabilities to your limits, but then you need that a little more. There’s stress on a ‘little more’ because it’s just that much harder.”
For the uninitiated, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was identified with myositis last year, a rare auto-immune condition. She took time away from the shoot to focus on her therapy, and she has since recovered.
In Citadel, Samantha will co-star with Varun Dhawan in a professional capacity. In addition to that, she has another film starring Vijay Deverakonda scheduled, Khushi, which is set to open in theatres on September 1, 2023.
