Rohit Shetty Confirms A Cop Film Featuring Deepika Padukone

There were earlier reports of Deepika Padukone teaming up with Rohit Shetty for a cop movie, but she was officially introduced as “Lady Singham” only in “Singham Again“.

Now, Rohit Shetty has confirmed that a solo movie with Deepika as Lady Singham is indeed being planned.

Rohit explained that the delay was because they were waiting for the right script and character launch. He shared that until “Simmba” succeeded, he wasn’t even sure about creating a cop universe.

After Simmba’s success, he added more characters and the idea of a female-led cop film. The pandemic also delayed plans, but now that Lady Singham has been introduced, Rohit confirmed he will work on her solo project with Deepika.

While addressing rumors about “Indian Police Force” being part of the cop universe, Rohit clarified that the show’s rights belong to Amazon, while the rights to “Singham” and the other films are with him.
