Ram Gopal Varma, fondly known as RGV, is a legendary name in Telugu cinema. His film Shiva brought a major shift in the industry, creating a clear “before and after” moment. Though his recent films have not had the same impact RGV continues to be an inspiration for many filmmakers.
Recently RGV appeared on a podcast, where he discussed various topics like cinema, censorship and film reviews.
One moment that stood out was his praise for a powerful scene in Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, where a young Ranbir Kapoor walks into a classroom with a machine gun. He called it a scene that gave him a real “high”.
He also spoke briefly about Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning starring Tom Cruise.
On the work front RGV is currently directing Syndicate, a futuristic crime thriller about a powerful criminal group threatening India’s future.
