Kollywood star Suriya enjoys strong popularity in Telugu states, and his films are often release in Telugu as dubbed versions. His latest movie, Retro, hit the screens on May 1st and was released in Telugu by Sithara Entertainments, led by Naga Vamsi. Despite getting negative reviews on day one, the film opened to decent collections due to Suriya’s strong fan base.
Interestingly, HIT 3, which was released on the same day, got a better response from audiences. Still, Retro managed to draw crowds and perform well at the box office on its opening day, proving Suriya’s pulling power.
