Raveena Tandon is making a comeback to Tamil films after 24 years in a new movie titled Lawyer, starring alongside Vijay Antony.
This will be her third Tamil film after Saadhu (1994) and Aalavandhan (2001). Directed by Joshua Sethuraman, the movie is a courtroom drama focusing on a first-generation lawyer’s journey and the struggles of the working class. Raveena plays a strong character with equal importance to Vijay Antony.
Joshua said he approached Raveena after she watched his debut film Gentlewoman. Impressed, she agreed to join the cast.
The story doesn’t include a love track and is based on a civil case in a labour court, aiming to show the real functioning of courts, unlike most courtroom dramas that focus on criminal cases.
Apart from acting, Vijay Antony is also producing and composing music for the film. The director promises a realistic, grounded legal drama.
