Director Sukumar has been known for making International standard films in Telugu language. His Nannaku Prematho, Nenokkadine, Aarya are praised by many as the best possible writing in recent years in Telugu Cinema. His films also contain a huge amount of emotional drama and high technical standards that impressed many youngsters. He is now coming with Rangasthalam as the summer season blockbuster entertainer with Ram Charan Tej and Samantha Akkineni in lead roles.
The director talked about the film and he said, “This film is my soul searching exercise. I lived in Rajolu for 25 years and I really know the village atmosphere closely. I can’t connect to the Internationality in my other films so easily but this one came naturally to me. I tried to fill the movie with my memories of my village and you will see that honesty in every frame. I was always confident that I have 80’s film to fall back on if nothing works. I am glad, I waited till I matured enough to take up this subject and this will be a completely different experience for people.”
About Ram Charan he said, “Ram Charan is one of the few actors who can work on different things at the same time and still focus on what he is doing at that point of time. He is the producer of another big movie but he did not come up with those tensions to the set. He managed to find a balance and get into the character of Chitti Babu on sets quite easily. I did not prepare him much and asked him to do what he feels, as I wanted to capture his instinctive performance more than a manufactured one. He did a stellar performance in the film.” Rangasthalam is hitting theatres on 30th March. Devi Sri Prasad audio for the film, is already popular.
