Ramoji Film City is one of the largest integrated film cities in the world covering an area of 2000 acres and it is visited by more than 1. 5 million visitors each year. Movies produced here number over 2,500, making it the largest film city in the world according to the Guiness World Records. The empire was constructed by media magnate Ramoji Rao in 1996, and it was planned to look just like Hollywood.
Several movies from Tollywood, Bollywood and also Hollywood have been filmed here which include films like Baahubali, Chennai Express, Krrish, and Dirty Picture. The art director Nitish Roy designed the studio and the exterior of the studio is done in the backdrop of the forests and mountains of Abdullahpurmet area.
Ramoji Film City has many Shooting Zones such as Forests, Gardens, Hotels, Railway station Shooting Zone, Airport Shooting Zone, and Apartment Shooting Zone. It has currently six hotels in place, 47 sound stages, and fixed structures such as railway stations and temples.
The film city has about 1,200 employees and approximately 8,000 agents. For transportation within the city there are options like a vintage bus and air-conditioned coaches. Ramoji Rao also ensures the establishment of the TV channels in major regional languages of India including Hindi, telugu, Urdu, Kannada, Gujarati and Bengali in the film city.
