Getup Sreenu, of Jabardasth fame, has now stepped into the spotlight as a lead actor with his debut film, Raju Yadav. The trailer sparked widespread interest, and the social family drama has finally hit the screens. Check out our review.

Raju Yadav Story: Raju Yadav (Getup Srinu) gets hit by a cricket ball, causing his face to take on an unusual shape, making it appear as though he is constantly smiling. When he consults a doctor, he is advised to undergo surgery, but being poor, Raju cannot afford it. Amidst these challenges, he falls in love with Sweety (Ankitha Kharat). The core of the story revolves around how Raju, despite his poverty, overcomes all odds to change his appearance.

Performances: Getup Srinu shines in the lead role of Raju Yadav, carrying the film largely through his performance. Tasked with maintaining a constant smile in every scene, Srinu excels in his role throughout the film. His portrayal, especially in the emotional scenes, stands out as one of the film’s highlights. Ananda Chakrapani, who plays Srinu’s father, also delivers an outstanding performance. The heroine did not give her best and could have been a lot better.

Technical Aspects: Sriram’s cinematography is decent, and the production design is adequate. However, aside from the central premise, Raju Yadav follows a routine storyline that has been depicted in many films before. Suresh Bobbili’s background score is similarly underwhelming. Harshvardhan Rameshwar composed the songs for Raju Yadav, but only one stands out, while the rest fall below par.

Analysis: Krishnamachary directs Raju Yadav, but his writing falls short. Despite crafting a unique role for the hero, the narration feels lackluster and lacks emotional depth. The hero’s behavior in critical situations seems odd, reflecting poorly on the portrayal of his emotional instability, which lacks essential depth.

Raju Yadav had the potential to enhance its emotional depth, but it failed to deliver, resulting in a film that drags, particularly in the second half. Raju Yadav has an intriguing core idea, but the screenplay falls short. The writing team was unable to transform this interesting concept into an engaging narrative.

Much of the film is bogged down by poorly written scenes that fail to make a significant impact, resulting in a largely boring experience. Ankita Kaharat’s character, the heroine, doesn’t add much to the film. Although she is intended to be the driving force, her impact on the hero’s transformation is not convincingly depicted.

Verdict: Raju Yadav is a silly attempt that does not work one bit. While the story idea is good on paper, it is lost in translation, making this film very boring and a waste of time.

Bottom Line – Lacks basic depth
