Rajamouli and Pawan Kalyan are two of the biggest names in Tollywood. To top it up, Rajamouli has paired up with NTR and Ram Charan, two more big names of Tollywood, making their RRR a mammoth of a film, which needs to do good business, which is the only way to ensure that the filmmakers don’t end up in any losses. On the other hand, Pawan Kalyan is pairing up with director Krish Jagarlamudi, for a big-budget periodic film, in the form of Hari Hara Veera Mallu.
RRR is scheduled to release on October 13th this year, but it is safe to assume that the film will be postponed to next year, as there are still some crucial parts of the film to shoot, With the second wave still at large, there’s no way that RRR will resume shooting any time soon. Sources are even saying that the next release date that the makers of RRR are looking at is Sankranthi 2022.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu is also scheduled to release for Sankranthi 2022. If both of these films end up releasing on Sankranthi, the trade and marketing sectors of Tollywood would be greatly tensed. It would also put a lot of pressure on the filmmakers, as the revenues will be divided. Two films of such huge scale releasing on the same day, during a crisis like the current one, will turn out to be catastrophic for everyone involved. Here’s hoping that the makers of both the films try to avoid this clash as much as they can, and ensure a safe release for their films.
