Rajamouli considering a pay-per-view release?

The much-awaited RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, featuring NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, who will be seen playing Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitaramaraju respectively. The promotions for the film are going in full swing currently, especially for the Bollywood market. The Tamil pre-release event also took place just yesterday.

While everything is being put in place for the release of RRR on January 7, 2022, brand new obstacles have come into place for the film. The spread of Omicron in the Northern region of the country has put in some major brakes for the Bollywood market, with night curfews put in place, and theatres being allowed to function at only 50% occupancy.

As a result, it is being said that Rajamouli is considering releasing the film on a pay-per-view basis, on OTT platforms. Radhe Shyam is also expected to go this route. Moreover, given that the AP theatre market is not in a good position currently, the makers of the film are said to be considering this idea quite seriously. It should now be seen what will happen ultimately.
