Radhe Shyam, which was released in March this year, turned out to be a colossal disaster, making it the biggest disaster in Prabhas’s career. The film received great openings in the Telugu states, but the collections went down after the first day. The situation outside of the Telugu states was even worse. Now, it looks as though Radhe Shyam might be gaining a better reputation, though.
Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan’s Acharya, which was released yesterday, has been receiving a negative response from everywhere. The film opened to really low collections, which is a record itself, considering the kind of following the Mega family, especially Chiru and Charan enjoy. The film’s opening day collections in the Ceded area are much lower than that of Radhe Shyam’s, making Radhe Shyam the winner.
Ceded is a very important area for Tollywood, as it gets in a lot of moolah. With Ceded getting such low numbers, trade experts say that there’s no wonder that the film got even worse collections in other areas.
