Producer Politics – Who Will Back Akhanda 2?

There’s been a lot of discussion in industry about a possible sequel to the blockbuster film Akhanda, which stars Nandamuri Balakrishna. Rumours circulated that big production house Geetha Arts would create “Akhanda 2” but it was revealed that the original producer Miryala Ravinder Reddy of Dwaraka Creations, should handle any big sequel.

While some anticipated that the 14 Reels banner might produce Akhanda 2, it appears that they are preparing a different movie with Balakrishna, rather than sequel. If Akhanda 2 were to happen, it would most likely feature a collaboration with Ravinder Reddy.

However, Balakrishna and director Boyapati have other commitments, thus Akhanda 2 is unlikely to materialize very soon. Balakrishna has more films planned, and Boyapati is working on Geetha Arts projects.

Until an official declaration is made, it’s reasonable to believe that Miryala Ravinder Reddy still the rightful producer of any future Akhanda sequel. Fans will have to wait for more details to see if Akhanda 2 becomes a reality in the future.
