Pakistani actor slams Priyanka Chopra over her knowledge

Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui requested that Global Star Priyanka Chopra brush up on her education.

Adnan Siddiqui, a Pakistani actor, recently criticised Priyanka Chopra Jonas for referring to Pakistani director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy as South Asian while congratulating her on Instagram for directing a Star Wars movie. Siddiqui disapproved of the way Priyanka talked to her online. See more below.

For the uninitiated, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is a journalist and director who has won both an International Emmy Award and an Academy Award. Sharmeen is on track to become the first woman and person of colour to helm a Star Wars movie.

Priyanka Chopra congratulated Sharmeen on her Instagram stories, stating, “First person of colour and the first woman to direct a ‘Star Wars’ film…and she’s South Asian!!” in the same vein as what was said by Priyanka Chopra. @sharmeenobaidchinoy, what a moment in history. I’m so happy for you, dear friend! May the force be with you. The Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui did not take kindly to this, and he promptly rushed to Twitter to vent his disgust. Adnan tweeted, “With due respect, @priyankachopra,” in an attempt to correct Priyanka Chopra. Just to refresh your memory, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is originally from Pakistan. Similar to how you proudly proclaim your Indian citizenship whenever you have the chance before claiming to be a South Asian.

Adnan Siddiqui, who criticised Priyanka for being careless, made his Bollywood debut in Mom alongside Sridevi. Adnan has already called out other Indian celebrities. He had previously made fun of Mission Majnu, a film starring Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna, for how it depicted Pakistanis.

He then said, “How much misrepresentation is too much misrepresentation? Bollywood has the answer. I mean come on yaar, with all the money you have, hire some good researchers to do homework on us.
