Oppam the latest hotcake!

Mohan Lal, has been in the thick of the things with his mind blowing performances in Telugu films, Manamantha and Janatha Garage. He has been raved by many critics and general audience equally, for his subtle and balanced portrayal of a mechanic and a shopkeeper in both the films.

His latest release, in Malayalam, Oppam, in collaboration with his long time friend, colleague and director, Priyadarshan has been making the headlines for it’s unconventional plot and huge box office success.

Priyadarshan and Lalettan have collaborated for many movies before and this was a comeback for their combination after their last movie failed at the box office. Priyadarshan was going through a tough time professionally and personally as well. This movie”s success proved that the combination is still relevant and can delivery today’s movie as well.

The movie is now being remade in Hindi, with Akshay Kumar by Priyadarshan himself. The buzz is that many producers are contemplating the idea of purchasing the remake rights of the movie in Telugu. Strong buzz from Tamil industry is that Kamal Hassan is showing keen interest in purchasing and releasing the Tamil and Telugu version of the story with himself playing the character of Mohan Lal.
