Opinion: Time for Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi to come out of the comfort shell

Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi ruled the South box office for close to three decades by delivering commercial entertainers. Later, the rise of next-generation stars in Tamil and Telugu made both the legendary actors stick to their comfort zone.

While Rajinikanth is tilting towards doing ages-old commercial entertainers, Chiranjeevi who wasted more than ten years by going into politics is doing back to back remakes which are not even creating curiosity among the fans. On the other hand, the competitors of Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth such as Balakrishna and Kamal Haasan are back to form by delivering solid hits in the form of Akhanda and Vikram respectively.

As both Akhanda and Vikram are well received by the audience, netizens and a section of moviegoers are eagerly waiting for the bounce-back of Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth with some fresh scripts. Will the legendary stars consider the requests from fans? Remains to be seen.
