These days Mega family has been obsessed with the idea of not conducting an audio release function. Rather they want to celebrate release with a pre- release event 3 to 4 days before the release of the film. Audio functions are used to be looked upon as the start for aggressive promotion of the film with music slowly catching up or instantly becoming a hit. The numbers of popular heroes always manage to become popular with many wanting to hear them at least for once. But with the digital marketing taking over the CDs and DVDs, the youtube platform has become the new platform for people to hear songs and watch videos. Even the surge in various apps from different music labels and platforms have provided enough variety in the market to sell the singles or full audio.
In Bollywood, weekly one song release has become fashion and now that seems to have taken over the creativities of Telugu Film Industry as well. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film had songs releasing each week till the release of the trailer and then Pre- release event increased the buzz. Dhruva, Sarrainodu also benefited with the strategy. Katamarayudu unit is also thinking on the same lines. With this strategy, Youtube views for each song can be counted differently and the buzz die out early. Well, from March first week, the team will start their promotions it seems.
