New Twist In Vikram’s Lar Gibbon Controversy
Vikram has landed in controversy after a video of him cuddling an endangered Lar Gibbon went viral on social media.
The Tamil Nadu Forest Department is now investigating how the animal reached him and whether the required rules were followed without fail. Officials also found that one of three Lar Gibbons linked to an Erode-based breeder had died.
The breeder reportedly failed to inform the authorities about the death. The surviving two gibbons have been moved back to Erode during the investigation.
The gibbons were reportedly transferred to businessman C K Ranganathan, who is related to Vikram’s family. The Forest Department is checking ownership records and the animals’ transfer history.
The incident has also raised concerns among wildlife experts about the legal ownership and movement of exotic animals.
