Nagarjuna, known for encouraging new talent, is expected to continue the trend for his 100th film. Reports suggest that he will team up with young director Ra. Karthik, who earlier made Nitham Oru Vaanam in Tamil.
The upcoming film is said to have a mafia backdrop and is planned as a mass commercial entertainer to impress Akkineni fans.
Although Karthik’s debut didn’t do well in Telugu, Nagarjuna was reportedly impressed with the story narration and has given him a chance. The script’s second half is currently being worked on.
Initially, director Mohan Raja was considered for the project with a father-son concept featuring Nagarjuna and Akhil, but that idea seems to be dropped.
After Naa Saami Ranga, Nagarjuna hasn’t signed any solo lead roles. His roles in Kubera and Coolie are key but not central. A formal announcement of the 100th film is expected soon.
