He said Thandel is based on the true story of Raju, who accidentally went into Pakistani waters and spent almost two years in jail before coming back to India.
Naga Chaitanya spent nine months preparing for his role, aiming to portray the Srikakulam accent accurately.
He visited Raju’s house and was inspired by his bravery and determination. Spending time with fisherman helped him understand their challenges.
Naga Chaitanya considers Thandel as the most significant film in his career and is fully dedicated to his role.
Music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad and the movie is ready to release in theaters on December 20, 2024.
