Salman Khan has recently received another threat, allegedly from a member of the Bishnoi gang. This latest warning was sent via WhatsApp to the Mumbai traffic control room, demanding Rs. 5 crores or a visit to a Bishnoi temple in Rajasthan. This is the second threat in ten days, leading the Mumbai police to increase security for the actor.
The Bishnoi community known for its respect for blackbucks has had tensions with Salman Khan since his involvement in a 1990s poaching case.
This history, along with recent threats has made him a recurring target for intimidation. According to a Money Control report the threatening message included specific demands and warned of severe consequences if Khan didn’t comply.
Mumbai police took immediate action, involving cyber experts to track the message’s origin. Although initially traced to Karnataka, the sender’s use of a VPN complicated the investigation. A breakthrough came when a 35-year-old welder in Bengaluru was arrested. Although his direct link to the Bishnoi gang isn’t confirmed, the police are investigating his possible connections.
Mumbai police are taking these threats seriously. Extra security personnel have been assigned to his residence and to monitor his activities, while other law enforcement agencies are also involved. His security team has been instructed to stay alert, and the actor has been advised to limit public appearances and exercise caution.
