April was a flop month for movies at the box office. Now, with elections and IPL matches, May isn’t looking much better. The big summer releases aren’t happening. Instead, we’re getting low-budget films like “Aa Okkati Adakku” and “Prasanna Vadanam.” Allari Naresh is hyping up “Aa Okkati Adakku,” a comedy perfect for summer.
“Prasanna Vadanam” with Suhas isn’t getting much attention. Also, dubbed films “Sabari” and “Baak” are out on May 3rd. Then, on May 10th, Satya Dev stars in an action-packed revenge film, no competition in sight. He’s pulling out all the stops for promotion, even inviting big directors like Rajamouli.
“Gangs of Godavari” with Vishwak Sen drops on May 17th. It’s got a catchy song and Sen’s last film did okay, so there’s hope. May 25th sees “Love Me,” a ghost romance with Asish and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, hitting screens solo. Finally, on May 31st, it’s Sudheer Babu‘s period drama “Harom Hara” and Anand Deverakonda‘s action comedy “Gam Gam Ganesha” trying their luck. Let’s hope at least one of them pulls in the crowds.
