Superstar Mahesh Babu recently produced Adivi Sesh’s film Major, in which Sesh portrayed Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an army officer, who sacrificed himself during the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
The film had really good expectations surrounding it at the time of its release and turned out to be a good investment for everyone involved, bringing in good box office collections. The film even got a highly impressive positive word of mouth, which further added to its success, bringing in more revenue from the Northern market.
The movie has collected a little over Rs. 50 Crore gross in its first-week run (26 Cr theatrical business), is still doing good business in the second week, against a budget of Rs. 35 Crores. The non-theatrical business of the movie, including satellite rights of all languages, OTT, and music rights is around Rs. 33 Crores. On the whole, Major has done a business close to Rs. 59 Crores, which is huge.
