Actor Sooraj Pancholi was detained on suspicion of aiding suicide in the Jiah Khan suicide case.
As soon as the court decides to give a ruling, the tragic Jiah Khan Suicide case can have an end. As actor Aditya Pancholi’s son Sooraj Pancholi was charged in the case, the untimely death of the Nishabd actor in 2013 caused controversy. On June 3, 2013, Jiah—whose real name was Nafisa—committed suicide. At the time, Sooraj Pancholi, who has not yet entered the film industry, was dating the actress.
After Jiah’s suicide note was found, Sooraj was charged with aiding suicide under Section 306 and taken into custody. Jiah had blamed Sooraj for their turbulent relationship. The Hero actor has since been involved in both legal and media trials. According to recent reports, the court’s arguments are over, and the Jiah Khan Suicide Case judgment will probably be announced on April 28.
Reports state that Special Judge AS Sayyad heard the closing arguments on Thursday, April 20 and that he will deliver the decision on Friday, April 28.
As previously mentioned, the court also denied Rabia Khan, the mother of Jiah Khan, her request to call back two witnesses. Actor Sooraj Pancholi taped his closing arguments for the case a month ago, where he responded to nearly 558 questions to show he had been falsely charged.
According to the same article, Sooraj also addressed the claims made by the Housefull actor’s sister, who claimed that Jiah was subjected to abuse by the Hero actor while the two were dating. Sooraj responded to the same question by saying, “My relationship with Nafisa was good throughout.” The actor was also requested to counter Rabia’s assertion that this is a murder case rather than a suicide case.
Reacting to Jiah’s mother’s allegations, Sooraj responded, “I am not responsible for Nafisa’s death.” He was also interrogated about Jiah Khan’s abortion when they were in a relationship. He refused to be aware of that. Responding to the same, he said to the court, “I had taken her to a family doctor and she had a fever. I was made to wait outside. I do not know about their (doctor and Jiah) conversation.”
The Ghajini actress committed suicide in 2013, but her mother Rabia filed a lawsuit contending it was actually murder. Sooraj Pancholi was detained in the Jiah Khan suicide case on suspicion of aiding suicide after a letter was taken from her home in Juhe. In 2014, the High Court delegated this matter to the CBI, which determined that this tragic death was the result of suicide.
According to a previous report by the CBI, Jiah described her ordeal, close friendship, physical abuse, and alleged mental and physical torture at the hands of Pancholi in her note, which eventually drove her to commit suicide. On April 28, the Special CBI Court will now render a decision in the matter.
