KD: The Devil Movie Review & Rating!

Dhruva Sarja, known as a Kannada action hero, hasn’t made much impact in Telugu after Pogaru. His latest film KD has released today, will it finally help him gain a market here? Let’s find out.

KD: The Devil Story: Set in the 1970s, the story begins with a threat to police officer Soorappa’s family, leading to a flashback. Kali, a simple kerosene businessman, loves his family and admires Deva, who once saved his life. After helping Deva during an attack, Kali falls in love. But a situation turns Deva against him. How Kali protects his family and faces Deva forms the rest of the story.

Performances: Dhruva Sarja fails to impress as an actor in KD, with no strong moments except a decent climax fight. Reeshma’s overacting and the dragged love track make the first half boring. Sanjay Dutt stands out with his presence.

Despite having talented actors like Ramesh Aravind and Ravichandran, their roles lack impact and proper closure. Shilpa Shetty appears briefly, while Sudeep’s cameo feels unnecessary.

Technical Aspects: After the success of KGF, many Kannada films are trying to follow the same style, and KD is one such example. The film focuses too much on hero elevations, which feel overdone. The first half has almost no story, making it boring. Even the second half doesn’t improve much and feels stretched only for the climax fight.

An unnecessary song and a confusing twist at the end test the audience’s patience. Technically, the film is average, with only the rain fight standing out.

Analysis: KD feels like a film made without a complete story. It lacks proper flow and clarity, making it difficult for audiences to sit through, both in theatres and on OTT platforms.

Verdict: KD is a loud, over-stylized film with weak storytelling and fails to engage beyond a few action moments.

Bottom Line: High on hype, low on content.
