This morning, reports came out that a hard drive with important footage from the upcoming movie Kannappa had gone missing. The production company, 24 Frames Factory, confirmed that they filed a police complaint.
They released a statement explaining that the hard drive, which had key action scenes and VFX work, was stolen while being transported from Hive Studios in Mumbai.
It was taken by a man named Raghu, who was acting on orders from a woman named Charita. Neither of them is connected to the film team.
The complaint was actually filed about four weeks ago, and the case is now with Cyber Crime officials. The team has evidence that the stolen footage, around 90 minutes, was going to be leaked online.
The makers called it an inside job and asked the public not to share any pirated clips. Kannappa will release worldwide on June 27th, 2025.
