Kamal Hassan is known for his talent in acting; yet, his popularity level among fans, or as his “market” is lesser than that of Rajinikanth who has been taking to commercial films rather than going for the conventional ones. Nevertheless, Lokesh Kanagaraj‘s Tamil-Telugu movie ‘Vikram‘ turned the game in favor of the makers, even earning more than what Rajinikanth’s films have made.
The business boom regenerated Kamal’s market, and this proved promising in terms of his coming up with the venture called ‘Thug Life‘. Under the guidance of Mani Ratnam, “Thug Life”, which brings back Kamal and the director after their hit movie “Nayakan” released in 1987, can be considered as a reunion of the two.
According to the recent updates, the overseas theatrical rights of a big movie called “Thug Life” were sold for INR 63 cr. This is a record breaking amount for a Tamil language movie. This deal, made between ‘AP International’ and ‘Home Screen Entertainment’, top the previous highest which was got in 2023 by Vijay‘s film, Leo.
Given that this film is a subject of such big interest and investments, “Thug Life” is likely to be one of the releases to remember, where Kamal will again prove his popularity and maintain his authority in the industry.
