At the press meet before Thug Life’s release on June 5th, Kamal Haasan shared emotional thoughts about his journey and Tamil cinema.
He said his dream is to push Tamil cinema in a new direction, even if not change it entirely. Praising Mani Ratnam as a “cinematic sage”, Kamal said working with him again was exciting and fulfilling.
He expressed deep gratitude to the people of Tamil Nadu, saying, “Tamil is my body and breath”, and now he truly understands those words.
Kamal also appreciated the dedication of the cast and crew, calling the making of Thug Life a creatively rich experience.
Co-stars Nassar, Ashok Selvan, and Silambarasan also spoke. Nassar said the film is one of his most emotional works.
Ashok called it a great learning experience, while Silambarasan said the team worked hard and is hopeful. With its release and OTT debut ahead, the team looks forward to audience support.
