Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, was recently released in Japan. Though the team planned a big promotional campaign, it couldn’t happen due to Prabhas’ injury.
Despite this, Kalki 2898 AD has made a strong start, standing next to RRR in Japan. Released yesterday, the movie became the highest Day 1 grosser among Indian films in the country.
It broke the previous record set by Saaho and is now second only to RRR in terms of earnings. Unlike RRR, which had heavy promotions in Japan, Kalki managed to achieve this success with minimal promotion.
If this trend continues, Kalki 2898 AD has a strong chance of becoming the biggest Indian film in Japan.
