It is widely known that Kollywood star Vijay’s father cum noted filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar announced a political party named All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam last year. Soon after SA Chandrasekhar made an announcement regarding the political party, an official press note came from Vijay that he is not part of his father Chandrasekhar’s political activities.
Even though Vijay disowned Vijay Makkal Iyakkam party, his fans and supporters have contested in last October led local body elections in 169 seats and 129 out of them emerged as victorious as ward members by using Vijay’s photo and his image during the campaign.
Now, the latest news is that Vijay Makkal Iyakkam party has decided to contest in the Tamil Nadu Urban Civic body elections. Reportedly, all the candidates will contest as independents in the elections which are scheduled to be held on February 19th.
