The second wave of coronavirus started midway through April this year, and slowly, every single film production came to a halt due to crew or cast members testing positive for the virus. A few films went ahead with shooting, but they too came to a halt when the government of Telangana announced a partial lockdown on May 11th. This partial lockdown is still going on, with more relaxations having been given just a few days ago.
The intensity of the second wave is slowly decreasing, with the number of cases dropping significantly in the state and in the country as well. Lockdown in Telangana is expected to be lifted completely by July, with necessary precautions put in place. This would be just enough for actors to get back to shooting. According to the latest reports, several top actors, including Prabhas and Mahesh Babu, are looking forward to resuming shooting for their upcoming films in July.
Prabhas is said to have asked the producers and other crew members to get ready to resume shooting for the remaining portions of Radhe Shyam in July, followed by Salaar. Mahesh is also expected to resume shooting for Sarkaru Vaari Paata in July, in Hyderabad, where a special set has been erected for the film in a private studio. Given that Prabhas and Mahesh are willing to get back to work, other actors are also expected to follow suit very soon.
