The extremely talented Naveen Polishetty along with the comedians Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna have played the lead roles in the movie Jathi Ratnalu. The movie is directed by Anudeep KV and produced by Nag Ashwin. Jathi Ratnalu released with lots of hype. Let us have a look at how the movie is.
Story: Srikanth (Naveen Polishetty), Sekhar (Priyadarshi), and Ravi (Rahul Ramakrishna) are three guys living in a town called Jogipet in Telangana. They are happy-go-lucky guys who do nothing in their lives. However, Srikanth decides to do something useful in his life at one stage and decides to leave Hyderabad. Sekhar and Ravi too follow him. That’s where the real trouble starts for Srikanth and the gang. They fall into a murder attempt trap and the rest of the story is how Srikanth, Sekhar, and Ravi come out of their charges innocent.
Performances: We have been hearing that Naveen Polishetty is a talented artist. We have seen glimpses of that in his short films and sketch videos. His debut Agent Sai Srinivas Atreya is a good example of it. However, Jathi Ratnalu exceeds all of that. Naveen Polishetty’s impeccable comedy timing, his screen presence are huge plus points of the movie. Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna have proved that they are the new generation’s best comedians. All the three make a good pair.
Faria Abdullah looks different from regular commercial heroines and she did well too. Her looks are decent. Murali Sharma, Vennela Kishore, Naresh, Tanikella Bharani, Brahmaji are good in their roles. Brahmanandam is effective in a short role.
Technicalities: Radhan’s music is good. Chitti, Jathi Ratnalu title songs are already chartbusters. He has given decent background music as well that didn’t outscore the sequences. Siddham Manohar’s cinematography work is impressive. Production values are good. Anudeep KV has proven that he is the new age filmmaker. He has presented innocent characters in a funny way. He is successful and a director to watch out for in the future.
Analysis: Jathi Ratnalu has no logic. It has a very routine, regular story. If we hear the story in one line, there is no point of impression. Yet Jathi Ratnalu will make you laugh out loud. The film is a rib-tickling comedy that throws away logic very far. Apart from a few hiccups in the second half and a different climax, Jathi Ratnalu will treat you with innocent comedy which is the need of the hour.
