It is not rare in Telugu Cinema to see a popular title being used again. We have witnessed ANR, NTR and Chiranjeevi also using same title for three different love stories in three decades. Aaradhana, the title has been used by the three heroes and interestingly all have been love stories. Then, we have Geetanjali, title used for a love story with Nagarjuna as lead by Mani Ratnam and then for a horror comedy by Kona Venkat with Anjali.
Even titles like Mugguru Monagallu, Pemabhishekam, Veta have been used by other actors after they have been popularised by another actor previously. Now, we may see that happening again but within the same family. Actually, one Mega family hero, Sai Dharam Tej as already used Supreme, a title of Chiranjeevi for his film. But never we have seen Pawan Kalyan’s title being used and that too his break out film, Tholi Prema’s title could be used by another hero from the family, Varun Tej.
Varun Tej scored a career defining block buster, Fidaa recently. Even though Sai Pallavi, as Bhanumathi hogged all the lime light, Varun too got an acceptance among the youth audience as a lover boy. So he is again trying out a love story, this time with Raashi Khanna as a lead. For this movie, from few days, Tholi Prema is said to be the title and these days, many are referring to this film as Tholi Prema only. Using the title, will ensure enough popularity for the movie, but we do think it will increase too much off unnecessary attention in the form of comparisons.. Let’s wait and see, if it is title.
